First of all, I've come to the realization that my PowerUp Rewards membership is to pay for the Game Informer subscription and to save a buck here and there on used games. There aren't any other rewards worth my time. What happened to all the cool gamer swag and collectibles? Secondly, there is never a personal connection between the customer and employee. The employees almost never give any useful advise other than what one can conclude themselves. For a store supposedly for the gamer, I would assume the employees would be VERY knowledgeable in the products they sell. Also, the employees rush customers through transactions then kick them out the door. Finally, I must acknowledge the availability of items in the store. For a small, specialty store, there are all the latest games and pre-orders everyone expects, with a descent amount of pre-owned games. There is a fair amount of cool apparel and collectors items. These are the high points for this particular store. In concluding, I would give this store 2 stars out of 5. The PowerUp Rewards are a HUGE part of the experience. Bring back the cool collectors items and this instantly adds a star. Your employees need to understand that while people don't like to be harassed and forced into buying something, they take this to the opposite extreme! There is a way to be helpful and guide people in the right direction without being a bother. If the employees gave useful information and understood what the customers truly wanted, they would not only sell more but build and retain a solid customer base. There are 1.5 stars that could be earned from the employee standpoint, which is by far the weakest part of the store. The availability of items is on par from what is expected. I am nit picking by saying there could be more availability of pre-owned games and specialty items. To the common eye, prices may seem high, but seems to be similar to other specialty stores. If I was to pull hairs, you could add .5 stars from this aspect. A couple simple changes and this is a store I would come back to every couple weeks rather than months. Work on your employees ability to interact with customers and GameStop would be a much more popular store!
